The RRS Chemical indicator type 6 is a cycle verification indicator which shall be designed to react to all critical variables for specified sterilization cycles. The stated values are generated from the critical variables of the specified sterilization process. These indicators are easy and cheap to use. The RRS chemical indicators are designed to ensure proper operation of the three effective factors of temperature, time, and steam that these factors are used in the sterilization process.
The distribution of saturated vapor varies in different parts of the steam autoclave (around, near the door, and in the middle). Therefore, the RRS chemical indicator should be located in the center of the enclosure (where the vapor is difficult to penetrate). The steam indicator complies with EN – ISO 11140.
Steam Chemical Indicator Type 6 (RRS 14-11650)
This chemical indicator shows the three parameters of temperature, vapor saturation, and time by changing color in a blue rectangle. This indicator has the ability to document and record specifications such as sterile date and shift, personnel code, autoclave code, and cycle and descriptions of the sterile package.
Result
If the blue color turns brown, it means that the autoclave function is suitable. if the blue color does not change, it indicates that the temperature, steam, or sterilization time are not suitable. Complete color change to brown indicates the correct operation of the device.
The color change of indicator type 6 is purple to green. The color change according to the reference indicates whether the sterilization process has been successful or not. If the color of the indicator does not change, the correct operation of the device should be checked by the technical manager.
Record the results of the chemical indicator type 6 color change in the RRS CSSD Documentation NoteBook.
Advantages
- High accuracy
- High Quality
- Correct conclusion
- beautiful design
- contain of special adhesive for documentation
Note
Do not expose the RRS chemical indicator to ethylene oxide, dry heat, or any other physical or chemical sterilization process other than steam.
The chemical indicator should not be wetted.
