Steam Chemical Indicator Type 6 (RRS 14-11620)

Steam Chemical indicators play a very important role in ensuring the quality of the sterilization process in steam autoclaves. These indicators are easy and cheap to use. High-sensitivity steam chemical indicators are designed to ensure the correct operation of three factors: temperature, time, and steam in the sterilization process.

The distribution of saturated steam varies at different location inside the autoclave (around, near the door and in the middle). Therefore, the RRS steam chemical indicator should be located in the center of the packages (where the steam is difficult to penetrate). In this indicator, the three mentioned parameters inside the packages are ensured.

The RRS chemical indicator examines the three properties of temperature, vapor saturation, and time in a pink square. This indicator has the ability to document and record specifications such as sterile date and shift, personnel code, autoclave code, and cycle and descriptions of the sterile package.

Result

If the pink color turns brown, it means that the steam is unsuitable. If the pink color does not change, it indicates that the temperature and steam are not suitable. Complete color change to black indicates the correct operation of the device.

The color change of indicator type 6 is pink to black. The color change according to the reference indicates whether the sterilization process has been successful or not. If the color of the indicator does not change, the correct operation of the device should be checked by the technical manager.

Record the results of the chemical indicator type 6 color change in the RRS CSSD Documentation NoteBook.
